Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety is a skills-based training for Law Enforcement, Corrections, Marshals, Crime Scene Analysts, Emergency Dispatchers, and all other Public Safety employees       (sworn or civilian) that teaches individuals how to de-escalate incidents and how to identify, understand and respond to a community member, family member, or peer who is experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge, without compromising safety. The program focuses on the unique experiences and needs of public safety personnel, and is a valuable resource that can make a difference in their lives, their coworkers’ and families’ lives, and the communities they serve.
